Blades need to come in either coiled up and separated, or in a figure 8 with the metal clip on them. Blades that do not come in this way will be charged a handling fee of $1.00 per blade.

Blades that are not picked up or paid for and shipped within 30 days of notification that the blades are sharp and ready to go may be forfeited and become the property of Far West. Please be prepared to pick your blades up or have them shipped in a timely fashion.

We do have UPS Return Service labels. Please ask if you would like some. With this label, you will take your blades to UPS and they will ship the blades back to Far West – a freight fee will be added to your sharpening invoice for this service in addition to the return fee per box for freight.  The following prices are for both inbound and outbound freight:

  • Flat pack up to and including 158”              $28.00
  • Small Cube up to and including 176”          $45.00
  • Large Cube up to and including 196”          $65.00

Blades must be packed in the original Wood-Mizer box with the original amount of blades, (or less) than came in the box new, and only applies up to 196″ bands to qualify for discounted shipping.

Sometimes blades cannot be resharpened. Reasons to reject blades for resharpening include:

  1. The blade is coil set (the blade is over-stressed and will fold on itself).
  2. The blade is missing two or more teeth in a row.
  3. The blade band has been twisted or bent.
  4. The blade band is too low for the sharpener (the blade has been sharpened too many times/too much material has already been ground from the blade).
  5. The blade has no set on one of its sides.
  6. Severe rust is present.
  7. The blade has tooth spacing or profile uncommon to Wood-Mizer blades.

IF YOU WANT YOUR BAD BLADES RETURNED, YOU MUST NOTIFY US IN ADVANCE, OTHERWISE THE BLADES THAT CANNOT BE SHARPENED ARE DISPOSED OF.

Bandsaw blade sharpening services available in the greater Sacramento California area.  If you’re looking for where to have your sawmill blades sharpened, look no further.  With 22 years of experience sharpening blades as Wood-Mizer Calfornia, we’re well equipped to ensure your blades are sharp and set back to factory specs. Wood-Mizer Resharps are closed around the nation, but Far Wests’ BladeSharp is going strong and expanding, and we use the same Industrial  Wood-Mizer sharpening equipment as the Resharp Departments were using to ensure the best quality.

We know the quality is great, because in addition to regular quality control inspections, we have our own blades resharpened here for use in our own sawmill operation. We look forward to serving your sawfiling needs.
