California’s forests have been devastated by the bark beetle destroying much of our pine forests making it susceptible to forest fire. The dead and dying trees are being removed to protect the healthy standing forest. In some cases after the beetle has done its destructive work the wood “blues”. This was traditionally regarded as a defect, but we choose to embrace this as “character” with its unique blued denim appearance.
