Pacific Madrone, Arbutus Menziesii;
Sometimes referred to as Pacific Cherry, this west coast hardwood will rival any of the foreign “Exotics” on the market.   This wood is frequently steamed, or pressure cooked to improve stability.  Madrone has beautiful grain and superior machinability.  Ranges in color from salmon to tan, with flashes of deep reds and cinnamon colors.
